BOCA RATON, FL, Jan. 29, 2009/ -- Akron Biotech is proud to announce the launch of CryoSolve, a cGMP single-use cell cryopreservation media, containing DMSO USP/EP 55% w/v, Dextran-40 USP/EP 5% w/v and WFI, with a 10% final DMSO concentration.

The highest attention to quality was given in the production of CryoSolve, from inception to final product. This includes the use of the finest raw materials, the use of USP Class VI glass syringes and the packaging design, all to provide our customers with a high performing product that is easy to use and compatible with the cryopreservation process in every way.

CryoSolve contains all organic raw materials - serum-free / animal-free, packaged in single-use syringes filled with ready-for-use media. Syringes have Luer-lock tips to help ease the process, eliminate sharps, avoid cross contamination and stream line process steps. Syringes are made of Type 1 Borosilicate Glass, USP Class VI, compatible with DMSO. All equipment used in the manufacturing passed compatibility studies and meets the requirements of low leachables/extractables, low toxicity and high purity.

"CryoSolve is made out of the same formula that has been widely used for decades for the cryopreservation of cells", said Dr. Claudia Zylberberg, Akron Biotech's CEO and President. "However, we have developed a product that is challenging the current standards by using only the highest quality raw materials, manufactured under cGMP, and packaged in a way that will better serve our clients. We expect the use of CryoSolve to become the best practice in the cryopreservation process".

CryoSolve syringes contain 7.0ml ready-to-use media and are sold in kits of 25 syringes per kit.
